Location is 604 Main Street, Zanesville, Ohio. Yan Sun Art Museum's programs are sponsored by the North American Art & Culture Association (NAACA).

“The Ronna Bucci and Dr. Charles Dietz Art Endowment Scholarship Award Ceremony and Exhibition”

A special exhibition that includes artworks created by recipients of “The Ronna Bucci and Dr. Charles Dietz Art Endowment Scholarship Award.”

The Ronna Bucci and Dr. Charles Dietz Artist’s Award is presented in memory of Ronna Bucci, a young artist, and Dr. Dietz, the longtime Director of the Zanesville Art Center. The award is given from the Ronna Bucci and Dr. Charles Dietz Art Endowment Fund at the Muskingum County Community Foundation (MCCF), which provided initial gifts to the fund, along with the Bucci family, Dr. Dietz, the Beaux Arts Club and several other community members.

“Southeast Ohio Watermedia Society Juried Exhibition”

Southeast Ohio Watermedia Society (SEOWS) is looking forward to its 38th Year in 2015! Yan Sun Art Museum is happy to present "Southeast Ohio Watermedia Society Juried Exhibition" in October 2015. This juried exhibition features watermedia artists of Ohio, with various styles and methods, including watercolor, acrylic, and collage.

Opening reception: Friday, October 2, 2015, 5:00pm-8:00pm
Special hours of the Southeast Ohio Watermedia Society Juried Exhibition:
October 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

“An Invitational Exhibition of Artworks by Ten Renowned Chinese Artists”

Artists featured in this exhibition are all from Chang'an, present day Xi'an, a city served as the capital of thirteen dynasties of China. The leading artist is Yang Xiaoyang, President of China National Academy of Painting. Other artists include Jiang Yixiang (Vice President of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts), Liu Xijie (Chair of Chinese Painting Department, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts), and Liu Yongjie (Professor of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts).

“Paintings by Chinese Artists - An Exhibitions of Artists from Gansu Province”

This exhibition continues the theme of "Brilliant Gansu" that started in last year. Artists featured in this exhibition represent a variety of styles. Members of this artist delegation are Ma Muqun, Ma Fangming, Zhang Xuezhong, Zhang Shaoquan, Ma Jiong, Li Zhizhong, Huang Wen, Liu Chong, Liu Shiqing, Lu Xiaoyu, Kang Xiaojun, Zhe Qi, Ding Xiaogang, and Gu Xuewen.

In conjunction with this exhibition, a "Painting with Chinese Artists" event is scheduled on August 4, 2015 at Zanesville Museum of Art. During the event, Chinese artists paint and explain the method, and participants follow them (Chinese rice paper, brushes, and ink will be provided). This event emphasizes the involvement of our local artists and visitors.

“Dialogue – Artworks by American and Chinese High School Students”

In July 2015, Yan Sun Art Museum hosts the exhibition, “Dialogue – Artworks by American and Chinese High School Students.” This exhibition makes a motivating arrangement of artworks created by high school students from the US and China with various media. It provides a very good opportunity to view how different perspectives of students with different cultural backgrounds are reflected in art.

“Artistic Impact of Forms and Meanings”

In April 2015, Yan Sun Art Museum features a special exhibition, "Artistic Impact of Forms and Meanings," which covers both oil and acrylics. The artist is interested in many subjects of painting, but the favorite is about Tibetan people and land. She traveled to the Tibetan areas for many times and find endless inspirations for art creation.

“Folk Art in the Culture Context – A Craft and Painting Exhibition”

In February and March 2015, visitors will have the chance to view a special exhibition that features both crafts and paintings. The hand-made crafts in display are slippers that represent various Chinese cultures and traditions. These slippers are for different purposes and are from diverse ethnic groups of China. A variety of materials and techniques are also represented, including embroidery, weave, and leather painting. Paintings included in this exhibition provide more information of the culture context.

"Along the Silk Road"

This exhibition features excellent artworks created by art faculty of College of Art, Lanzhou University, China. It covers a variety of media, including Chinese traditional painting, oil painting, and design. Lanzhou City is an important point on the historical Silk Road, and artists of Lanzhou are greatly inspired by its rich history and try to reflect the glorious culture along the Silk Road in their artworks.
