Irises by Madaline Pepper

"Irises"
Acrylic on panel, 28" x 36"

Pepper’s art has a unique style that encompasses a graceful rhythm in the overall vigorous rhyme and expressive strength. Her subjects were often botanical gardens and landscapes, painted in bold brushstrokes and lively colors, along with unique compositions.

Madaline Pepper (1924-2017), former member of the Board of Directors at the Zanesville Museum of Art and one of the founding members of Southeastern Ohio Watermedia Society (SEOWS), had been a keen supporter of the artistic life of the community, especially the educational function of the museum all throughout her life.
