"Global Warming"
Pottery and Mixed Media

Peggy Sibila believes that for artists, the primary purpose to create art is for the art itself. She also believes that artists create for their own love of and passion in art. Therefore, art is all about a genuine feeling, frankness, and truth. A brilliant artist, Sibila is of many passions – curating, designing, and creating. She devotes most of her time in her art and decoration related career, while being a remarkable exhibiting artist in numerous juried and invitational exhibitions. As Peggy Sibila has been asked many times over the years why she chooses art and how she became an artist, her answer is very simple, “because of my passion in art."

Ceramics and raku seem to be always present, in addition to Peggy Sibila’s mixed-media works. Peggy Sibila appears a master at making commentary about some widely concerned issues in an unconventional way. In Global Warming, Sibila adapted a number of methods which she is expert at, including the mixture of two-dimensional and three-dimensional, as well as the mixture of media. This work is principally done with painting on panel, ceramics, and metal parts.

A member of the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts Board of Directors and Gallery Chairperson, Peggy Sibila regards a gallery as an artistic environment, a friendly place, and an inspiring space.
