Yan Sun had traveled back to the coal mine where he worked at, painting and drawing images of his used-to-be colleagues and their successors. He said, "The coal mine I worked at did have beauties for your composition, except for the hardness of mining. And it had the color and light to add atmospherics to your painting. And my coalminer colleagues have kind hearts and loving personalities."
