Minnie Mouse was first introduced in 1928 together with Mickey Mouse. For decades, they've been a pair of iconic friends for children around the world. Minnie became the major subject in this still life painting by Yan Sun.

The composition of Still Life with Minnie Mouse is exceptional, with Minnie Mouse at the upper left-hand corner and other objects creating a zigzag flow across the rest of the painting. Yan Sun emphasized the solidity of objects through techniques in modeling and color. Including the Image of Minnie Mouse simply adds a joyful feeling as many viewers have the experience of having Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse as their best childhood friends.
