This plein air painting demonstrates how Yan Sun is attracted to boating pleasure and water wonders. In this painting, Yan has explored the shapes of boats, the shimmering waters of lake, and the reflection of sky in the lake. He used thick brushstrokes to enhance the brilliance of a beautiful morning. 

The foreground of this “Peaceful Harbor” consists of boats, represented with bold brushstroke and vibrant color, while the background of it embraces a cruise ship and the city scene using shades of grays.
